Just some random quotes from the A Team:

While playing the game Trouble, the kids will put their hands over the popper and say “Are you ready for this action?!” I have no idea where they got that saying from…

Adrianna’s version of the song Jingle Bells: “Tinker Bells, Tinker Bells, Tinker all the way!”

“What a beautiful town!” -Austin, referring to the Christmas lights downtown. When we drove a different way the next day, he said “Where’s the beautiful town?”

“Are you serious?” -Adrianna

“….., okay?” -Adrianna adds “Okay” to the end of every sentence, especially if she knows that we won’t agree with her.

“I love this chicken! It’s the best chicken ever! I want to eat it a zillion times!” -Austin, referring to Crockpot BBQ Chicken.

There are so many other funny things that they have been saying lately! I need to start writing them down!

In November, Brittan and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary (which was in August) in Punta Cana. It was our first “real” vacation without the kids. Although we missed the kids a lot, we had a great time and loved the island life! I plan to update more on the blog, but here are a couple pictures before the full update.

5 Years Later, but Same Love!

The kids loved that St. Nick came to visit our house!

He even brought one of his elves to stay at our house until Christmas; his name is Snowy. Snowy is an elf from http://elfontheshelf.com/ . The A Team loves talking to Snowy and whispering what they want for Christmas so Snowy can relay the information to Santa.Image

On August 5, we celebrated our 5th anniversary and we couldn’t be happier. We have two awesome kids and we love each other more every day (clique, but true!).
We celebrated at Nagoya Steakhouse (the same spot we went for our 4th anniversary) and then headed to Mon Ami Winery to share a bottle of wine. It was a relaxing evening and although we missed the kids, it was nice to have an evening with just the two of us. I’m a lucky woman to be Brittan’s wife!

Sidenote: Brittan got his hairut the next day. After looking at these pictures, wow, he needed it!!

The last weekend in July for the past 38 (?) years, the Samstag family has joined for their family reunion in Sandusky. As usual, it seemed to be one of the hottest days of the year and the kids had so much fun playing with everyone!

Adri suddenly likes to pose for every picture

Candy Hunt!

Brylie!!

Adrianna gets shy around a lot of people, but she LOVES hanging out with Aiden!

Adrianna won a tea set from the duck pond and she plays with it every day. She LOVES it!

Back in July, I was lucky enough to have a girls’ weekend away with some of my favorite cousins and my sisters. Jacki drove up from North Carolina and Caitlin, Heidi and I met Halle and Casey in Columbus. We went down to Columbus for the concert, but it was really just an excuse to meet with some awesome Roth ladies! :) We had a great time, played Phase 10, ate some yummy vegan food and delicious ice cream, played Michael Jackson wii, did some consignment shopping and found some great Goodwill and Plato’s Closet deals! We really do have the best family ever!

The same shirt I wore to their concert in 1991—20 YEARS AGO!

The Opfers co-hosted The Big Ass Party in July and we all had a great time! It was an adults-only party, so the kids stayed home with Aunt Caitlin.

My mom and I especially had a great time and we were on the dance floor all night!!

Samstag women!

Doesn’t watermelon just scream “summer”?  Both kids love it!

The kids LOVE blowing bubbles in the front yard. Sometimes they take turns where one person blows the bubbles and the other person runs and chases to pop the bubbles. But other times they both want their own bubbles to blow and pop.
