Austin has also been working on his spelling, and here is a video of him spelling his name.  He has been able to spell his name for the past month or so, before he is 2 1/2!  Way to go, buddy!

Austin has been working on his ABCs and he is almost there!  He still skips several letters, but he does pretty well. :)

Grandma Therese and Grandpa Brad sent the cutest card to Adrianna on Halloween and she loved it! Check out the video and pictures below:

After “school” (aka daycare) yesterday, the kids and I met Brittan at Downing Farms to pick out our pumpkins for Halloween.  The kids weren’t feeling very well and we ran into dinner time, so the kids were grumpy and we didn’t get very good pictures.  Regardless, the kids had fun looking at all the pumpkins and deciding which ones they wanted.  Austin kept trying to pick up each pumpkin and kept saying “this one’s too heavy!” and “that’s a heavy one!”.  Finally, we decided on two mini pumpkins for the kids and two big pumpkins for Brittan and me.

Even Adrianna could lift her own pumpkin:

On Saturday night, Austin and I ventured out to Cedar Point for Halloweekends.  I love being able to do things with each kid and spend one-on-one time with Austin or Adrianna.  So while Brittan and Adri stayed home to hang out, Austin and I had some mommy-son time.   (Not sure why he insists on making a “CHEESE!” face in every picture, but he is cute nonetheless!)

Today we headed to Osbourne Park for Harvest Happenings. It’s basically a community fall festival with fun events for the kids.  They had hay rides, tractor rides, kids’ games, pumpkin painting, pony rides, petting zoo, etc…  The weather was pretty chilly as the wind wouldn’t get let up the whole time and by the end of our time there, Austin had to wear his winter coat.  Regardless, he had a great time and insisted on running from activity to activity.

First, was the tractor/train ride:

Austin’s favorite part was the “BIG pony rides!”

Today, we went apple picking at Burnham’s Orchard in Berlin Heights. The weather was less than perfect, a little chilly and overcast, but we had fun nonetheless.  Here are just a few pictures from the day. I hope to post more pictures later, so enjoy these pictures in the mean time:

Brittan and I took a vacation day on Friday, September 25, and spent the day with just the two of us.  It is wonderful to connect in a time that our lives are so busy.  We drove to Crocker Park for some shopping and had lunch at The Cheesecake Factory.  It was a beautiful day, sunny, and in the lower to mid 70’s. We were even able to eat outside on the patio and I wasn’t freezing cold and Brittan wasn’t too hot (this is rare for us!).  :)   We also stopped at Trader Joe’s and picked up some food for the weekend.  One of our finds was a spicy thai stir fry sauce, which I will post pictures of below.

After lunch, we drove back to Sandusky and stopped at Mulvin’s veggie stand.  We got a little bit of everything: thai peppers, jalapenos, cucumbers, zuccini, potatoes, green, yellow and red peppers and onions…etc…  After picking out our fresh veggies, we dropped them off at home and stopped at the library for a movie to watch on Friday night.  After the library, we made our final stop at Hermes’ Winery. We did a wine tasting then purchased our favorite wine (Sunkissed).  It was a fun day and it reminded me why I married Brittan in the first place. He’s such a great husband (and daddy!).

Anyway, here are some pictures of the stir fry that we made tonight with our sauce from Trader Joes:

A few months ago, Grandma Therese made this cute outfit for Adrianna. I finally got around to taking pictures of her in it and blogging about it. Doesn’t she look cute?? :)
